Welcoming Breado: Our First 48 Hours of Love

Welcoming Breado: Our First 48 Hours of Love

There’s a certain stillness in the first few days after giving birth — the kind of silence that feels sacred. It’s like the world narrows to a warm, sleepy blur where time slows down just enough to let you soak in every blink, every breath, every impossibly tiny yawn.

And just like that… Breado was here.

Fresh out of the oven, soft as a cloud, and already changing our world with each sunrise.

I still can’t believe it’s only been 48 hours since I first held him in my arms — all wrinkled and warm and perfect. And to celebrate his arrival, I’m doing something really special with one of my favorite photography teams: @tobislittlewonders.

Because the truth is — these moments don’t last forever. But photos? They let us hold onto the magic just a little bit longer.

A Little Toast to This Chapter

We named him Breado as a little nickname at first — a nod to how warm and soft and squishy he felt in those first hours. It was a bit of a joke between us during pregnancy, but as soon as we met him, it just stuck. He was our little loaf of love.

Those first two sunrises with him were emotional. I barely slept, not because I couldn’t, but because I didn’t want to take my eyes off him. There’s something so surreal about watching a whole new person sleep on your chest. A person who didn’t exist in the world until now. A person who is made of love and dreams and late-night cravings.

So yes — we’re celebrating. Because the oven timer went off, and what came out is the best thing we’ve ever made.

Partnering with Tobi’s Little Wonders

This isn’t my first time working with @tobislittlewonders, and every time we do, they capture something I didn’t even realize I wanted to remember.

From my maternity shoot to these early newborn moments, they have this way of seeing what matters — the unposed glances, the forehead kisses, the breath between smiles. And what I love most? They make you feel at ease in your own skin, even when your body and heart are going through the most.

So when they said they wanted to do something special to welcome Breado, I didn’t hesitate. We came up with a giveaway that I wish I could enter myself!

We’re Gifting Three Families a Free Photoshoot

To honor this new chapter in our life and celebrate yours, we’re gifting THREE lucky families any photo session of their choice with @tobislittlewonders. This could be:

  • Maternity
  • Fresh 48 (like ours!)
  • Newborn
  • Milestones
  • Family photography

This is your chance to preserve your own little magic, however it looks — baby bump, tiny toes, birthday cakes, sleepy snuggles. Whatever moment you’re in, it deserves to be remembered beautifully.

How to Enter the Giveaway

It’s super simple to join the fun:

  1. Follow @valeryteddybear & @tobislittlewonders
  2. Like & save the giveaway post
  3. Tag a fellow parent-to-be or baby-loving friend (every tag = one entry)
  4. Repost the post to your Instagram Stories

Giveaway closes on 15 May 2025 at 11:59 PM (SGT), and winners will be announced on our stories the next day.

Good news? There’s no deadline to use your shoot. So even if your baby isn’t earthside yet (or hasn’t even been imagined), you’re still welcome to join!

A Huge Thank You to Our Beautiful Birth Space

The photos you’ll see from this shoot were taken at Lincoln Suite in @thomsonmedical — and what a beautiful, peaceful space it was to bring a new life into the world.

There’s something comforting about knowing we started our parenting journey in a place that honored the moment, from the staff to the soft lighting. And I’m so glad we got to freeze those first 48 hours with such care and creativity.

Why These Moments Matter

Here’s the thing — the early days? They’re fleeting. And when you’re in them, they feel endless and slow, like night feeds that stretch into forever. But suddenly, they’re gone. Replaced with first smiles, first steps, and first birthdays.

That’s why photos matter so much to me. Because they let me pause time. They let me go back and feel it all again — the tenderness, the overwhelm, the wide-eyed wonder.

So whether you’re expecting your first or chasing your fourth around the kitchen, I hope you take the time to capture it. I promise, future-you will thank you.

May your days be warm, your hearts be full, and your loaves always rise.

Stay toasty, friends — and good luck with the giveaway!
